Our snake plant has bloomed twice 🌱
Did you know? . . .

A snake plant may bloom when under stress and the thought it might die (I may have neglected watering her). They will reproduce flowers that turn into seeds so they will continue on with life. They fight to live! Because it is rare for a snake plant to flower, the bloom symbolizes prosperity. This is the ONLY one I’ve ever seen bloom and she resides right at our entrance!

A little like life- when we are faced with stress and think we might die we can choose to either give up and settle into failing feelings or push forward and fight harder, flowering and creating new growth and prosperity. No one is coming to save you, honey- the choice is yours.

According to Feng Shui a snake plant placed at the entrance will protect the space while attracting good luck and positive energy.

We receive so much feedback about the good energy in our space- guests always comment how they feel safe, welcomed and cared for. I believe it’s our amazing team that brings their best everyday but, I will give a special nod to our sweet green by the door. 🍃🌱🪴

I’ve been gatekeeping this- until now. . .

This gorgeous guest was ready for a shift in color. So, we started by talking through maintenance, skin tones, starting point etc and together decided on violet, raspberry tones that added the perfect punch of fun that matched her personality perfectly!

We both were so happy and I took 100 pics and then yup, they sat on my phone only to be buried by screenshots of puppies, selfies, more hair and the balance in my checking account- until now. Because, she deserves a place on the feed.

Someone said we’re revisiting 2016?

Ok, girl ☺️ let’s do it.
Picstitch was a FAV app! I pic stitched everything and I mean everything with no regard to backgrounds or lighting. If the light bounced off the top of the hair it just added extra “shine”

Looking back I realized I wore more fascinators than any person should, and polka dots/stripes with a bright red or metallic shoe. Some things haven’t changed though- I still love to find a reason to order a miller light and I’m still obsessed with my craft and always seeking out education that helps our whole team grow.

Thanks for the memories 2016. It was a year jam packed full of growth and good stuff. Ps…I did upgrade those silver shoes to gold adidas 😉

If you asked me long ago to look ahead at my career and describe it, I could never have imagined how amazing it would all be unfolding. Nothing worth it is ever easy though. The joy, laughter, friendships and success have been balanced with tears (loads of tears) hard ass work, late nights and early mornings, mistakes… many mistakes and more but, one thing has always been clear and that is my passion and purpose to propel the next generation forward.

As we step into a new month, I just want to take a moment to pause and truly say thank you.

This year has been such a whirlwind of growth, creativity, and connection and none of it would be possible without all of you. ✨Appointment two of Karry’s black box dye to calico transformation✨

When Karry first sat in my chair about eight weeks ago, she told me she was ready for a change but she also wanted to keep her hair healthy through the process. Like so many people, she had years of black box dye built up, and we knew it wasn’t going to be a one and done kind of thing. So we decided to take it slow, trust the process, and let her hair guide us each step of the way.

We started breaking through some of that box dye in our first session, using K18 to protect and repair her hair as we lifted. My main goal was to keep every bit of strength and shine while still making real progress. Fast forward eight weeks, and this second session has me so excited we’re finally starting to see those gorgeous, dimensional calico tones peek through. These warm, natural ribbons against her darker base are giving the most stunning contrast, and it suits her so well.

And can we talk about her CUTIE bangs?! I seriously cannot believe she’s gone her whole life without them they frame her face perfectly and just complete the look. Everything about this transformation feels so “her,” and I love seeing her confidence grow every time she’s in my chair.

We’re taking it in sessions about every eight weeks, and I know in just a few more, we’ll have the healthy, rich, calico blend we’ve been dreaming of. I’m obsessed already.

I’m Sarah, and I’m so excited to officially call @nuancesalon my new home!

A little about me I’m obsessed with all things blonding, reds, and lived in color. I love creating hair that grows out beautifully, fits your lifestyle, and makes you feel confident long after you leave my chair. My favorite part of what I do will always be those “oh my gosh, I love it!” moments when you finally see yourself the way I see you.

Outside the salon, life’s a whole different kind of busy. I’m a boy mom to the sweetest (and wildest) 1.5 year old, and we share our home with three crazy dogs who keep me constantly on my toes. When I’m not chasing after them, you’ll usually find me listening to country music, trying out new restaurants, or deep in a true crime documentary rabbit hole.

Yup, I used to be the girl that was sure I could squeeze in 3 more things before I had to head out the door making for a chaotic start to the day. Let me tell you- I took that energy straight through the week! It wasn’t good for anyone and I never really accomplished all those things on the to-do list

Fast forward- I love Mondays. They signal a new week, a fresh start and my mornings start slow and steady. I love to get to work early to prep for the day and week ahead setting myself and my team up for success. The shift in energy has really allowed me to be more present fr everyone in my life. Don’t get me wrong, some days don’t go as planned (ADHD anyone?)but, I’m better equipped to handle the twists and turns.

Full disclosure- I did have a neighbor on a walk turn around and jog away from me as I attempted to film this 😂 🤷‍♀️
